In this guide I’m going to reveal the gurus I’m following. For each one you’ll discover their best content and products based on what I’ve personally consumed or purchased in the last 3 years.
Some of them specialize on a specific topic, such as Facebook Ads, but in general they all have content covering every topic about Internet Marketing!
They’re are all making at least 6 figures a year.
Of course I’ve learned from many more people, but these are the ones that impacted me the most.Table of Contents
Her content has helped me specifically with Facebook ads as well as content distribution and repurposing.
This is a traffic strategy where you take one piece of content e.g. a video, convert it into an audio and blog post and share it to various social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, Medium.com, TuneIn.com, Spotify, Slideshare.net etc.
This is her Facebook Live video explaining her latest 7X Content Distribution System.
She’ll show you how to create and share 50 pieces of content per day – for lots of traffic over time.about:blank
Most of her content are videos on her Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/kimroachfan
Facebook Messenger List
On her page she has some great videos about building a Facebook Messenger List. This is just like your email list, but your subscribers will be located on Facebook.
You can create follow up messages and send broadcasts to these people just like you do with your email list.
Facebook Messenger is another option to communicate with your audience. Over the last years email open rates have been decreasing, according to several gurus with huge email lists.
However email is still the best communication method. It’s an asset that you own. You have your prospect’s name and email.
When building a Facebook Messenger List that list is owned by Facebook.
It’s possible (because it happened before) that they can make certain updates or changes which will affect you negatively.
Worst case scenario would be they stop Facebook Messenger altogether and you lose your messenger list.
To get these ‘Messenger Subscribers” you’ll need a Facebook Page and/or Facebook Ads.
Everyone and every business is kind of different – if you’re drawn to this, perhaps consider testing it out, it may be that Facebook Messenger works really well for you!
This guide explains further… How to Build a List of Messenger Subscribers with Facebook Comment-to-Messenger Ads.
Miles made the most impact on me of all these gurus. Perhaps it’s because he revealed what I needed to hear the most.
Or perhaps it’s because his strategies are the simplest and easiest to implement. Plus he has a LOT of in-depth free content.
He helped me the most with email marketing, content generation, sales funnels and Facebook Ads.
He teaches the same strategies he’s actually using. The best part is that they’re simple – this means anyone (new or pro) can take action fast, the learning curve is much smaller.
You won’t have to build complex systems like Ryan Deiss’ email marketing strategy, the “Follow Up Machine”.
His content is primarily on his Youtube channel. One of his playlists has 16 videos and it’s basically a free course on Facebook Ads.
His best content about Facebook Ads in my opinion is the $5/day Facebook Ads strategy.
That is the simplest way to get started with Facebook Ads. A very simple strategy that anyone should be able to understand an implement.
He has many videos and even blog posts about that strategy. I recommend the post called How Much Do Facebook Ads Cost? Can You Advertise On FB For $5?
If you’re going to use any paid traffic generation method you’ll most likely need a sales funnel.
A sales funnel is just a handful of web pages designed to capture the name and email address of your audience.
And it’s other job is to recuperate (liquidate) some and preferable all of the money you spend on ads immediately.
Miles’ sales funnel is very simple. It’s the one he uses, and it works really well.
It’s revealed in his Youtube video, complete in every detail (for free):
That video was recorded in 2016, it’s still relevant but I suggest you check his newest videos about sales funnel for the latest updates.
You can make a quick search on his Youtube channel or his blog for ‘sales funnels’.
In the early stages of your business there’s no point using complicated email marketing strategies with tags, automation, multiple lists and so forth… at least not until you hit $10K a month.
They’ll waste valuable time.
Miles explains all this in detail in several videos, like this one…
Content And Value
Miles is the guru who really helped me understand the importance of generating content consistently and giving as much value as possible to your audience.
So you might want to search for his content creation videos on his channel or blog. For example ‘The Law of Reciprocity” and an absolutely good one about content How Do You Choose the Best Content Strategy for Your Niche?
His speciality is SEO. His Youtube channel with 249K subscribers and his blog Backlinko are the perfect place to learn SEO.
He has a lot of free guides, all very detailed so you can optimize your website content pages so they rank well in Google.
If you’re going to use video as your content format, Brian can show you how to rank them in Youtube as well.
Some of his best content:
Neil’s has a lot of good content about content marketing, traffic and SEO on his Youtube Channel.
He has a good keyword research tool as well UberSuggest, it’s no longer free.
I learned copywriting from Dan. His Youtube channel with close to 2 million subscribers has a copywriting playlist, but you’ll find more copywriting videos by searching his channel.
Of course he has more valuable advice not just about copywriting. This is one of his latest:
If you’re going to build more than a simple sales funnel, Russell has a lot of content about sales funnel. It’s his speciality.
This is especially the case if you plan to use webinars in a sales funnel and so forth.
I am not recommended his software, ClickFunnels.
Although that may be a good option if you’re going to do complicated funnels with multiple pages, upsells, downsells, order bumps, etc.
But still, you might want to consider PayKickStart, or another far cheaper alternative.
I have three books from Russell. DotComSecrets is a very good one to understand the various types of funnels and how they work in combination with traffic and email marketing to build your list and generate sales.
Expert Secrets is way more complicated, I haven’t seen any real applicable techniques out of it yet. In fact, I discontinued reading it.
Funnel Hacker’s Cookbook is a free ebook and it contains a bunch of sales funnel templates.
But these templates just tell you what elements the pages need to have, e.g. a headline, image, buttons and so forth. There’s no real detail.
The best part, which is 20X more valuable than the free ebook is the videos that accompany it.
You’ll discover how to use sales funnels, the various types of pages that you can use when building your funnel and how to create different funnels.
Recently I got his ebook, Lead Funnels Swipe File for just $7. It’s very good in my opinion. It’s a swipe file with over 100 different funnels.
These are simple funnels, with a handful of pages designed to build your email list. You can build them without ClickFunnels or other funnel building software.
Russell explains and shows you the lead magnets they’re using and any other offers on the other pages of the funnel.
They can inspire and give you new ideas so you can build your own sales funnel to start growing your email list.
In the first chapters, he explains very carefully all about creating lead magnets, building a relationship with your list and how to create the thank you and other pages of the funnel.
It’s extremely valuable.
What I don’t Like
ClickFunnels isn’t cheap at $97 a month for most people in my opinion. And the version with all the features is even more expensive at $297 a month.
You can build a simple sales funnel and use that money to buy traffic.
He can be the right person to give you the motivation that you need. He’s unique in his approach. He doesn’t use nice quotes to motivate people.
He’s aggressive but that might work better for you.
Here’s a good one from his Youtube Channel:
On his website he has some interesting free tests:
- Success Test – find your weak spots and discover how to leverage your strengths.
- Snow Flake Test – find out if you’re weak.
- Super Success Test – find out if you have what it takes to be super successful.
Sure not everyone wants to be super successful. Perhaps all you care about right now is to quit your job.
And you may want to download his free motivating ringtones.
Joseph Murphy was a New Thought minister, and he built one of the largest New Thought congregations in the USA.
I’ve read several books by Joseph and they can help you understand the immense ability of your subconscious mind and how to use its power.
Business-wise you can use it to guide you in the right path to build a successful business… or to help you achieve a specific goal… or to attract to you money and wealth… or to give you new ideas…
I’ve personally read these books so far:
You can find them all at Amazon and from there see comments, ratings, and the many bookstores that sell them.
I truly believe his books can change your life if you apply his simple techniques.
Basically all you have to do is sit quietly, relax and read a prayer for about 5 minutes. And just do that everyday…
But you need to understand how your subconscious mind works so you’ll have faith and believe that your prayer will be answered.
Those are the prerequisites to get your prayer answered.
This has nothing to do with religion, in fact you can be an atheist and it will still work for you.
Everyone is different. These gurus may or may not be the best teachers for you.
You may prefer Gary Vaynerchuk’s hustle over Joseph Murphy’s prayers.
Or Derek Halpern’s content versus that from Miles Beckler.
But I hope these 9 gurus can give you some of that knowledge you need to achieve success with your business.
If you know of any other good gurus you follow drop their names in the comments.
